Hi! My name is Platon and I’m a London-based filmmaker. I am experienced in directing and filming narrative and documentary projects. I have also worked as videographer and video editor for commercial and lifestyle shoots, including fashion, hairdressing, and live music.
I have worked with brands like Hippie Shake, Trevor Sorbie Creative, Cut and Run Hair, Bolt Motorcycles, The Printer's Devil, and more.
I’m passionate about telling the small personal stories of everyday people, in fiction and documentary form, as well as capturing engaging and beautiful imagery.
While doing my undergrad in literature and film, I worked as a freelance translator, working on five bestsellers including Raymond Carver’s short stories.
During this same period I started Pendora, at the time a literary magazine with contributors from around the world which at one point was publishing four pieces of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry per week. It eventually widened its scope to focus on society in general through more mediums, flourishing during the pandemic with video essays, docu-interview videos, two podcasts, and a print issue about our increasingly automated digital existence, titled “Dead Slow”.
My current projects include a documentary on the radical sociopolitical changes in Albania during the 90s, a documentary on the history of shoemaking in England, and two short narrative films, all at various stages of production and pre-production.
